I think about the Internet, the radio, and how differently they work compared to television, which doesn't need the at all.

I look at the two columns.

The shows up when something is unique, shared, or already understood. It disappears for meals, next/last time words, and TV as an activity.
the는 무언가가 유일하거나, 공유되거나, 이미 이해될 때 등장해요. 식사, next/last 시간 단어, 활동으로서의 TV에서는 사라져요.

 

I close my journal, ready for breakfast tomorrow morning, and another day of learning the small rules of this big language.
