Welcome back. Today we talk about something small. But very powerful.

We talk about one dollar.
1달러에 대해 이야기합니다.

You may think: one dollar is nothing. It cannot change my life.
이렇게 생각할 수 있습니다. 1달러는 아무것도 아닙니다. 내 삶을 바꿀 수 없습니다.

But you are wrong. One dollar can change everything. If you use it the right way.
하지만 틀렸습니다. 1달러는 모든 것을 바꿀 수 있습니다. 올바른 방법으로 사용한다면.

The lesson is this: small amounts saved every day become big amounts over time.
교훈은 이것입니다. 매일 저축하는 작은 금액이 시간이 지나면 큰 금액이 됩니다.

This idea has a name. It is called the power of compounding.
이 아이디어에는 이름이 있습니다. 복리의 힘이라고 합니다.

It is the first day of the month. Mia gets her salary.

This time, before she spends anything, she takes out one dollar. Just one.

A savings account pays you interest. That means the bank gives you extra money for keeping your money there.

After one year, your three hundred and sixty-five dollars becomes three hundred and eighty-three dollars.

You did nothing. The money grew by itself.

This is called compounding. Your money grows. Then the growth also grows.

After ten years of saving one dollar a day, Mia has more than four thousand seven hundred dollars.

That one small change became three hundred and sixty-five dollars a year.
그 하나의 작은 변화가 1년에 365달러가 되었습니다.

And then four thousand seven hundred dollars in ten years.
그리고 10년 후 4,700달러가 되었습니다.

After ten years, that becomes more than nine thousand dollars.

From skipping coffee and a snack. Every day. For ten years.

When you save every day, you send a message to yourself. The message is: I am someone who saves.

   Compounding means your money grows on top of its own growth.

   A savings account pays you interest for keeping your money there.
   저축 계좌는 돈을 보관하는 것에 대해 이자를 준다.

3. identity : 정체성
   When you save every day, you build a new identity as a saver.
   매일 저축하면, 저축하는 사람으로서 새로운 정체성을 만든다.

4. consistent : 꾸준한
   Being consistent means doing the same thing every day without stopping.
   꾸준하다는 것은 멈추지 않고 매일 같은 것을 한다는 뜻이다.

5. habit : 습관
   A habit is something you do without thinking. Build good ones.
   습관은 생각 없이 하는 것이다. 좋은 것을 만드세요.
